My 3 year old threw up in the middle of the night last night. I kept him home today. He had a temperature and was not himself. He mostly drank and ate some toast. Thank g-d he didn;t throw up again. Do you think I should send him to school tomorrow? If he has no temp and eats breakfast okay?

I am a sahm so not a big deal to keep him home but he is much happier if he goes to school.

Schools ask a child be fever free 24 hours before returning. Did you say your child ran a temp today? Then should not go tomorrow....

Yes, a slight temp. My thought is I should keep him home to make sure he's okay. Since he barely ate today. DH doesn't agree so much..

Most schools have a policy of 24 hours fever free. Regardless, I think it's important to give the child that extra bit of time for the body to rest and fully recover. Keeping him home will probably make his recovery quicker.
(Sometimes they seem fine in the morning and an hour into the school day they start feeling sick again. I've seen it too many times...)

If he feels ok, wants to go and policy allows, send.
