Can you help me figure out how to deal with this? I was having shoulder pain and a friend who works in alternative medicine helped me out. My insurance paid for the services (extremely high payment!) over the course of two months or so. The pain is resolved and I do not want to continue but my friend keeps pressuring me that I need to or it will return.
I don't want to imply to her that she is using me for the money but it feels that way! Can someone help me get out of this in the least awkward way possible?

I general worn alternative medicine they like to do an extra treatment or so to complete the process.
We do this with antibiotics, feel better after a couple days, but continue taking for the full 10 days.
Maybe it's needed, maybe it's not. Maybe all her what she means and to explain the process to you. Decide for yourself what top do and tell get it's your decision for your body. You love her as a friend even if you decide not to.

You don't say what type of treatment but in many cases it does make sense that treatment needs to be completed even after the pain symptom goes away. You only feel pain when the problem is bad, no pain doesn't mean the problem is solved.
I would ask her to explain more about how the treatment works and outline the plan for how long it will take to complete. Then you can judge for yourself.
I would love to know which insurance covers alternative healing, and gives extremely high payments... Even medical specialists get grossly underpaid through insurance.

It doesn't sound to me like she is using you. And if your insurance pays why does it hurt to finish her recommended treatment regimen?
