As a guest, I usually try and pack up as soon as Shabbos is over. It has nothing to do with the hostess and everything to do with me needing to get home to my space with my things and just have time alone. I am careful not to commit to anything afterwards, but some people haven't yet learned how to do that tactfully. It could be that they needed their space and have not yet development the necessary emotional and social skills to decline invitations for games after Shabbos and how to leave politely without making someone think that they are running away.
