the lights were flickering - motors grinding - and water urn going off & on ...
then I looked outside & it was happening on the street lights & next door ...
lucky it was daytime - it was scary - BOO !!!
there was a brown out ... now the coffee urn still is going on & off despite the electrical outage fixed

Brownouts in winter? Gosh. I only have them in summer when everyone has the a/c cranked up to "freeze-dry".

It's happened to me before.
First the washing machine stopped working. I thought oh no this repair is going to cost too much. Then the light in my son's room wasn't working. I thought the bulb burned out. Last the lights in the dining room flickered. Electric company fixed a loose wire outside my house. Everything after that worked fine.
Have the electric company check the work they did outside. Something is probably loose.

there were 500 people with brown outs - I guess it's the excessive use of heaters in the cold ...
it's all fixed ... but I think it broke the coffee urn ... surges of electric can short-circuit appliances/computers/etc.
