I love this show, but please be warned: Season 2, Episode 5 depicts a fairly graphic back-alley abortion scene. If I could do it over, I would watch every episode but that one. (I am a very sensitive person, and this was too much for me to handle. It left me a sobbing wreck.)
Sorry to hear that, for you. Do you mean the lady who had too many children and had something done at home? I have finished watching season 3, so I dont remember that well. But the chrismas special was lovely.
And their will be a new season, I think. So thats something nice to look forward to.

Season 5 won't be out until 2016. Season 4 was good, it explored a few more controversial topics with sensitivity, compassion and tolerance. I do wonder where the story material is coming from now since the topics and stories in all of Worth's writings have already been explored.

I love Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey. What else do you watch? I like that they are intelligent and explore different issues.

I watched Indian Summers about the end of the Raj in Indian and the advent of independence. Some cex, posh locales, good plot.

The Indian Doctor was great, about a Dr. from India practicing in Wales circa 1960. I don't recall if there were any cex scenes.

I love the Call the Midwife series, and I was excited to read the books. To me, they were much more explicit and expose an even more seamy underbelly of London than the show depicts. I literally ripped out part of the 1st book-I wish I could unread a few pages describing the harlots of London. Very illuminating, especially about the horrors of the workhouse, but not for the faint of heart.

Series 6 began in Jan, it is broadcast on Sunday nights here in the US so you can view the episodes on Monday or Tuesday after the broadcasts on the PBS web page.

Just watched Sunday nights episode! I love how they incorporate what went on in the world at the time into the story lines.
The episode with Fred's cousin with Down syndrome broke my heart
