Fruit flies... so annoying

Never had this before. Tons of fruit flies in my kitchen. How do I send them going?

try to figure out what is attracting them. don't leave any food around, wash dishes quickly, or load them right away into the dishwasher. In addition, if they are in the sink area, pour boiling water down the drain.

I take a cup of apple cider vinegar and put a few drops of dish soap in it, leave it out or put a few in different places.
I did this when I had an infestation and they were gone in a day or two.
