OP, if you keep giving your child antibiotics, how do you expect his body to learn to ward off infections on its own?? The antibiotics are crippling his innate ability to fight invaders, as well as creating drug resistant strains.
I believe you can break the cycle, but it will take a lot of patience and persistence, and even discomfort and pain on your and your child's part.

Not giving meds at this point isn't an option. He was diagnosed with chronic ear infections and it must be treated with meds each time so it doesn't affect his hearing.
I did ask the Dr if could be hereditary, since I used to suffer a lot from ear infections and strep. (Which BTW did eventually stop at one point in my adolescent years), and he told me that it has never been proven.
I still believe that I should do this favor for my child and try natural meds before putting him through surgery.

does he suffer from reflux?
the ent and pulmonologist I took my kids to say a lot of things weren't proven to be hereditary yet or to run in families but the books weren't written in Brooklyn where they see multiple kids of large families.
I'm up to kid #2 with tonsils/addenoids, using the same ENT my sil used for a few of her kids and a cousin used too.

my nephews used to suffer from a lot of ear infections. my sister used to take them to a chiropractor to avoid taking antibiotics often.
I'm not sure if ear infections & strep are related; but I know my son used to get strep often. we took him to a specialist - where at the end of it all said to keep his nails short & cleaned.

No, he BH doesn't suffer from reflux.
My kids nails get trimmed weekly, and I encourage my children to wash their hands with antibacterial soap when coming home from school/outside.

I'm telling you it is definitely possible to break the chronic ear infections with vitamins and herbs. I did it. I wrote about it on the previous page, please do your son a favor and just try it, you have nothing to lose. The constant antibiotics is harmful to him, wiping out the good bacteria and lowering his immune system. There really is something to strengthening the immune system to gain the ability to fight it off on its own. I really recommend Shaklee, it has done wonders for my family BH. I know it's hard to take the step when the doctor isn't recommending it but you have to understand it doesn't mean it doesn't work, this is just not their field, they only work with drugs and not nutritional healing.
(I'm anonymous because I talk about this all the time).
