In device manager, are there any 'conflicts' listed?

I opened the Device Mgr, but I don't know what I'm looking for. I opened the Sound, Video Game Controllers and only shows in the sub menu the name of the speakers. I already looked on the speaker settings. How do I know if the driver for the speakers is ok?
I also revealed the Hidden Devices and "Storage Volume Shadow copies" is revealed. the submenu for that shows several of the same name. what is this?
thanks for helping me troubleshoot. (I only wish my life had a easy trouble shoot)

Ok, when you look at the stuff in device manager, you should see icons next to the items....do any of them have a yellow warning triangle with an exclamation point in them?

thanks for being such a pal and staying with me on this....
no, all of the triangles/arrows are white.
I sent an email to the company that makes the Audio Smart for guidance. ie how to download/reload the proper driver.

thanks for all the encouragement. I found out what to do: uninstall the driver; then reboot the computer; once the computer loads, it will reinstall the driver. This worked! Shema....
