It depends on your kids. Some kids like to visit the elderly, package food for those less well off, etc. You could think of some "chessed" that is appropriate for them and that they will enjoy (if that doesn't exist: don't push it......) You could also take them to a museum or a really fun outing (dog sledding, ice skating, park, etc. I don't know where you are) and just have close family time.
