Thousands murdered, hundreds sold into slavery, and created tens of thousands of refugees. The western world sighs and shakes its head, but where is the anger? Where is the aid? Where are the millions of people protesting in the streets for justice?

How many of you have heard of Boko Haram? They're an extreme militant Muslim group in Nigeria that wants an Islamic state with all traces of Western influence removed--especially education. Their name translates as "Western education is sinful"

Where's the concern that this militant Islamic group will establish a huge, armed Islamic state?

In October 2014 they kidnapped 276 girls from a school (only 57 of whom escaped). They were all forced to convert to Islam. They have been forcibly married to Boko Haram terrorists, used as forced labor, sold into s-xual slavery, and forced to be suicide bombers.

Earlier this month Boko Haram carried out an incredible massacre of people. It's estimated that 2000 were slaughtered, with few able to escape. Entire towns have been razed to the ground, as you can see in these (non-graphic) photos: http://www.abc.net.au/news/201.....18810

Here's what the UN has to say about this massacre:

UN wrote:

We deeply deplore the vicious, ruthless attacks against civilians in the northeastern Nigerian town of Baga, where Boko Haram has reportedly been operating since 3 January. While the exact details remain unclear, what is fairly certain is that mass killings and mass forced displacement have occurred. The deliberate targeting of civilians is clearly prohibited by international law and we are very concerned at reports that there were children and elderly people among the victims.

"Deplored" and "very concerned".

And here's what they said about the killings at Charlie Hebdo:

UN wrote:

“I am appalled and deeply shocked by the attack against Charlie Hebdo in Paris this morning,” Mr. Ban said. “This act of violence can in no way be justified. This is an attack against freedom of expression and freedom of the press - the two pillars of democracy.”

"Appalled", "deeply shocked," and "in no way [can they] be justified."

So I guess the western world doesn't really care about terrorism or human life if it's in Africa. Sad

Very true. Even more so when you compare their response to Gazans killed in Israeli army operations as opposed to their response to other Middle Eastern governments and terrorist groups killing many times more people in much more brutal ways. It's mind-boggling.

It seems the media only really cares about terrorism if:

1. the victims are European/American and the murder occurs on European/US soil, OR
2. it can somehow be blamed on Israel/Jews.

Even Nigeria's own leadership don't seem to care that much. Which is part of the problem.
