Making a cake that calls for buttermilk. Any ideas on how to substitute with soy milk? Will 1 TBS vinegar and remainder of soy milk work?

Any tips appreciated!

Yes. Exactly. That's what I always do. Never used actual buttermilk in anything since I'm allergic to dairy. Don't use any other parve milk substitute since none of the others (rice, coconut, almond etc...) will curdle like soymilk.

1 tbs vinegar for 1 cup of soy milk. Buttermilk is basically sour milk, so souring the soy milk is a good approximation.
