We are considering to move from ny to nj, what are the first few steps to make it happen?

I agree with Optione, are you keeping your jobs, or looking for new ones? if you are keeping your jobs in NY how are you going to commute. if you want to get new jobs, do not move until you have one. ... re: drs. insurance , if you are keeping your jobs, check and see if your insurance will work in nj, since nj/ny are close, a lot of companies cover places in both areas, you may be able to keep some of your drs, otherwise, look where you'll be moving to
also where in nj do you want to move? have you already checked out the community? spent a shabbos there? looked at the schools... bc you'll want to do these things and try different places before you move. once you know what community you want, you'll be able to find place to live and such.

Uh-if the NJ area you are moving to is Lakewood, I would put schools before apt on your list.
