You mean "to explain"? Levaer? bet, aleph, resh.

I don't think it has a Yud. It's באור

What accent are you using? Are you saying it rhyming with Bayer aspirin? Do you mean Bah-ER tefillah, as in a command, "explain the tefillah", or Be-OOHr tefillah, a noun, I.e. the process of explaining the tefillah? If the latter, Be-OOR tefillah, like PeROOSH Rashi, is bet, aleph, vav, resh. No yud. It's with a tzereh, not a chirik, and rhymes with neither "shiur" nor "Bayer", though people who don't care about proper pronunciation do say it (wrongly) both ways.

Ah, when I was in school we mangled the Hebrew so that it sounded more like "Beer T'filah" We transliterated it as "Biur Tefilah", which is close to zaq's "be-OOHR".
