Names of Two IDF Casualties Published

The IDF Spokesperson Division has released for publication the names of the two soldiers killed Wednesday in a Hezbollah missile attack on an IDF convoy near Mount Dov.

IDF officer Captain Yochai Kalengel, a company commander in the Givati Infantry Brigade from Har Gilo, was 25. He was promoted to Major after his death.

IDF soldier Sergeant Dor Haim Nini, a fighter in the Givati Infantry Brigade from moshav Shtulim, was 20-years-old. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant after his death.

This doesn't really tell you anything so different but it's so sad when you see their age and "home town". Makes them more real Sad

Yochai Kalengel hy"d, the officer who was killed, grew up in Elazar, across the road from here. His family still lives there. Last year he received an award for being a 'katzin mitztayen' (outstanding officer).
His wife Tali, grew up here in Efrat. Her parents live across the street from me.
The couple was living in Har Gilo, a mixed religious/secular community on the way to Jerusalem.
They have a 2 year old girl and a baby on the way.

UN to appoint committee to probe death of UN "Peacekeeper" soldier who was killed in Israel's retalliation for the incident near the Lebanon border:

What do these "peacekeepers" do, except watch Hezbollah as they attack Israel?

Before we knew that two Chayalim were killed I sort of got a chuckle out of the idea of Get rid of the UN peacekeeper and now we can go battle it out and finish the problem off.

They man checkpoints and are supposed to be neutral monitors and peacekeepers, and to assist the local population with humanitarian issues.
Sometimes they impede IDF ground movement in Southern Lebanon.
Unfortunately they sometimes also get caught in the cross fire. This is not the first such incident.

Except we all know they have looked the other way as Iran armed Hezbollah over the past decade.
