I've never made chicken pot pie before so I have a couple of questions.
If I want to add potatoes, should I boil them up first or should I put them raw into the pie?
Also, I have a broken crust that I was thinking of either putting on top or else I thought I'd break it up a bit more and mix it into the pie itself. Which would be better?
I always boil them halfway or so just to make sure I won't have chunks of raw potato in my pie. I would put the broken crust on top. Presentation isnt super important at my table. There is a version of chicken pot pie that is more like a soup that has bits of crust like noodles in it. I grew up on that kind.....very good.
