its always good to know these halochos in case an emergency happens on shabbos. No should have to go to hospital alone. Some people do stupid and dangerous things because they don't know the halacha.

Thanks! I’m so grateful for everyone’s help. My husband has a lot of respect for the women here, so he was glad I got some thoughts about it from Imamother members.

I'm not G-d's accountant but I'm pretty sure you got some serious points for approaching this as halachically as you could. Hope the recuperation's going well.

What a sweet thing to say! I don’t always approach every discussion with as halachically-dictated opinion (yes, I’ve been known to look for shortcuts) but I can’t put my husband in a position where he’s really uncomfortable. It’s uncomfortable enough being married to me. Smile

My kid is doing fine. Back at school, much less discomfort. I even got him fleishigs to make him happy, which is saying something in my milchig universe.
