Seriously. Talk about libelous! Why couldn't he just write "Robert" or "Richard"? Even "ben Noach" is better but then someone would have concluded down the road that his father's name was Binyomin Noach.
So how DO you call to the Torah a man whose father is not Jewish? Ploni ben Avraham Avinu, same as a ger?

Thats actually exactly whats done in some cases of kids of non jewish fathers. ploni ben avraham.
Or they use the maternal grandfathers name after the mothers name. like ploni ben plonit bas ruven shimon levi. Not elegant, but it has been done.
