Depends on the tooth how much it'll cost.
If you don't do a root canal you risk infection and losing the tooth.
If you do root canal but no post and crown, your wasting money on the root canal. The tooth will end up cracking and you will have to remove the whole tooth anyway.
Not fun, but necessary. Hatzlacha

Anywhere around $1000.

However, beware of paying cheap. The root canals aren't done so well. It pays to go to a good endodontist even if it means paying more.

Also, you must have a crown otherwise the root canal falls apart

agree with this.

I paid $1200 for a root canal done by an endodontist.

My husband had to have a root canal redone because the first time it was done poorly, and part of the tooth got infected. It was painful and very expensive! Definitely get it done right the first time!

around $1500 including post and crown which are very necessary, though you can split them up and do it in two different spread apart appointments
Do NOT go the cheapest route. It will end up being the most expensive route and the most destructive to your teeth or what is left of them. Do lots of research and choose someone with lots of good personal recommendations.
