We are seriously looking into purchasing a vacation home in Orlando. We've looked before but always get stuck and than kind of stall out. I'm hoping orlando amothers or others who have a vacation home can help.
Basically we are wondering where the best area to purchase a home is- doesn't have to be single family, can be attached as long as we can get a fence up. Preferably gated but we'd really like to be around other Jews who have rental homes there - ie minyan if we come up for succos etc.
Is there a Jewish real estate agent that can help us, that deals with this situation??
Anything we need to know before we go further?

Check out the Dr Phillips neighborhood. It's 10 minutes from Disney and Universal and there's a thriving Jewish community there with a minyan 3x a day. The Shul has a website - Orlando Torah Center, and it's in walking distance from homes in a variety of price points.

Thanks!! Is there anything specific we should know? Realistically we would probably want to rent it out until the mortgage is paid up. Those that rent vacation homes- is there anything you look for in a Orlando home?

Right now is a great time to buy - the market hit a low in 2010 and is now recovering. I would buy in the Jewish community. You'll be able to rent to Orthodox Jews who will take care of the house, and then eventually you'll have a well placed house for you to come to vacation in.
