my purim theme has always been PURIM ... no need to think more than a l'chaim along with hamantash ... I've always been successful with both young & old / family & friends / neighbors & congregants ... nobody has yet to complain that it wasn't fancy enough ~ tie baggie of hamentash with ribbon to the bottle of grape juiice/wine/smirnoff

the best part is we get to eat & drink the leftovers [cause with the kids all grown I don't have to run amok I just sit at home]

through the years you learn that all the 'extras' are really just a waste of monies & nobody looks at you any different for not trying to compete

There speaks a woman after mine own heart. Let's put the "Pure" back in Purim and do things purely for the mitzvah, not to impress the neighbors and win the Silver Palette Golden Hamantash award.
