I always put my son in girl pants. I get leggings and jeggings and skin tight jeans (j crew, Zara, gap, seven for all mankind, Levi's, Ralph Lauren) the Jewish stores also have lots of leggings

Sew tucks at the waist. That's what my mother had to do for me; that's what I do for my 9-year-old dd. They don't have to be neat and you don't have to be an expert seamstress. It can be done by hand. Needle and thread. That's it.

The children's place has a bunch of adjustable pants,it has this elastic with buttons on the inside of the waist line so you can adjust .

What size do you get him? Which brand do you find to be the slimmest fit?

H&M has really nice fitted narrow pants. Sometimes I do have to take in/put in a drop of elastic at the waist but the pants are neat and really tailored looking.
