I've always made a traditional dense and delicious challah but lately my husband's stomach has been more sensitive and my usual challah recipe is too strong for him. Can anyone recommend a lighter on the stomach challah recipe that still tastes good? He has no food allergies or anything like that, he just eats a lot of challah throughout the week and needs a lighter recipe.

Try white spelt flour. Here is the recipe I use:
3 tablespoons dry yeast. 1 cup sugar. 4.5 to 5 cups of water. 1 five-pound bag of white spelt flour, sifted. one-quarter cup oil. 1 tablespoon salt.
Mix and knead to form a dough (I do it by hand). Cover, and let rise for 45 minutes to an hour. Form challas or rolls. Paint with egg. Bake until done.
