Does anyone else find it frustrating that new clothing designers advertising as frum and modest are making clothes that are almost there but not quite tznius? I mean is it necessary to make the neckline just so open and the hemline just the right spot above the knee?
I'm no rebetzin by any means but it seems like a lot of effort to go through to design your own "tznius" clothing and purposely miss the boat.

I think the material is just horrific. Synthetic junk. Clingy and see-through.

I don't see a need for those nowadays at all. Long skirts and loose stypes have been in for a while. You can always find good stuff in a regular store, in a variety of qualities. It is clothes for tweens and teens that I find difficult to find.

A few points:

1) People and communities have different standards of what is considered tzanua,

2) The designers appear to using a more lenient standard, and

3) The designers are losing market share because frummer people won't buy the product and the people who will already have a lot of other options.

There's a good niche here for a frummer talented designer to step into.

I know has icons on the side of every page so that you can sort things by sleeve length, skirt length, and neckline.. that way everyone is happy.. might worth taking a look there.

I hear you OP. I'm 5'7", and I can NEVER find anything that covers my knees when I sit down. It's either too short, or I have to wear maxi skirts, and nothing in-between. I've taken a few of my maxis to get shortened to 3/4 length, but why should I have to pay for extra tailoring?

Mad

Oh, and don't even get me started when they say size 10 is a Large (skin tight at that), and there's no higher sizes. Since when is a size 12 considered "plus size"? We do not live in China, so please stop buying clothes from there!

Shop in regular stores. A blouse is a blouse. A long skirt is a long skirt.

Can't afford Jewish shops. Especially to go and get mad because it's not so tznius or even modest at all. And yes even the shops at Mea Shearim, the seller was like oh it's good, but it was above my knee when standing
