I recently got k9 on my computer. It blocks youtube, and whenever I want to allow it, I click to allow it for 15 minutes. That is, until today. Today, my kids wanted to watch videos and it went on without needing a password. It still tells me that the site is blocked, but it doesn't actually block it. Any ideas of how this happened and how I could fix it?

did they go through gmail? It overides filters. You have to go to the settings page and choose block keywords and type in youtube.

It could be that somebody played with it and changed the settings. If you can't get it to work properly, first try turning off the computer and rebooting, and if that doesn't work, uninstall and then reinstall it from scratch.

OMG! This is NOT cool! (This is op.) I'm so glad you wrote this though. When I go to youtube, it automatically puts in the s after http. That's the problem, and I can't get it to leave out the s. Even if I take it out, it puts it back in automatically. So I don't think it will help to re-install K9. I seem to have a problem here that K9 cannot fix.

Op again. So my computer seems to be putting the s in there regardless of what website I go to. It's just always there, and there is nobody who could have put it there. (Dh does not know what you have to type in extra, and my kids are too young to have done it. Nobody else has been using my computer lately, and this problem has only been there today.) The question is, how do I get rid of it?

If the website is saved in the cache then it will allow it without password. You need to clear history/remove cookies. This is what worked for me.

Thank you! I cleared my cache and now it is blocked again. But it still puts the s after http automatically. Oh well, I don't understand it, but as long as the filter works again, I'm happy.
