We have several devices in our home that are outdated and discontinued.
I have an older generation Ipad which I personally hate to use, and e-reader for e-books that doesn't connect to Internet. besides, I want to get a new laptop because the old one is well, too old, but it is still functioning.
My DC-7 is begging me to get him a kiddy tablet, but I don't see the point because we have the Ipad which he is sometimes allowed to use 8but it's not officially "his").
Would you try to sell these devices now for bupkes (because there are tons of new devices coming out every year), or leave them for kids to use, so they could have them as their Birthday Gift in a couple of years. I mean, we would have to buy birthday gifts anyway, so why not use the things we already have?
What is the good age for owning these? I would imagine, e-reader would be good for anyone who is reading fluently (like 7-8), ipad starting at 9-10, laptop for bas/barmitzva age?

I have an ipad 2 which has wifi issues so I couldn't sell it but it's perfect for my kids to use for games on fridays. I have an old iPhone which (3GS) son uses as MP3 (while being locked) although it works great, it's not worth to sell it. My old androids I keep too for them to play (on weekends only) bc let's face it, how much money would we get already?
My kids are 12 and 6
