My 4 yo is a deep breather since birth. Meaning, this is way way he is. The way he breathes can actually be seen and somewhat heard. Also, he talks in a lower valume. Raising his voice seems to be work for him. He tries to keep it low. Ven crying is not too loud. He never screamed yet in a loud voice like other kids can. He snores through the night but not extreme loud. I as a mother feel that he has some respiratory issue. I'm not trying to get problems but I base my speculation on 1- his low voice. 2- his voice doesn't come out that clear. 3- his snoring. 4- as a btw. his temperature is a bit warmer on an average and he runs fevers every few weeks of over 102 then clears up after a night or couple days. Most times I don't visit the pediatrician for just the fever or when I do they find nothing to concern so they tell me it's a viral. 4- in the past year he had twice pneumonia but healed fast. So do you think I should be concerned? The Dr doesn't seem to be that's why ask here. Now he's having fever for the 2'nd day so I'll go in the morning to the Dr. Also, when I listen closely to his chest and the breathing/heartbeat I can hear every few second a crackle noise in his breathing. Does this mean pneumonia or something else? As right now is there anything I can do? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyone with experience or any Dr's on imamother right now? Please advise.

I don't actually have any wisdom to share, just as a mom I would also be concerned by the things you mentioned and I am also generally a fan of going with your motherly instinct. Is the doctor not concerned because he doesn't agree with you that this should be checked out, or is he not concerned because he has checked out your son well enough to determine that there is no issue? Perhaps you can ask for a referral just to allay your concerns even if he doesn't happen to agree.

With everything you listed I would try to find someone with expertise in this area to do a thorough evaluation.
The crackling is congestion, but the question is how deep it is. You could think it's coming from the chest, but meanwhile it could really be just phlegm in his throat.
Refuah sheleimah!!

Take him to a pediatric pulmonologist. Where do you live? Maybe someone can recomend a good one.

sounds like asthma ... another vote for pulmonologist
you can't just keep going back to the same doctor who is not finding the reason ... and it's not really normative to have fever every few weeks ...

Op here
Sorry my op has missing letters. I'll try to edit that later.
I did asked the dr a while ago for a prescription to a pulmonologist. He did give me that but said that he thinks there's nothing for the pulmonoligist to check specifically. He says that twice pneumonia isn't just something to run to a specialist.
Can there be a possibility even to hear his breathing by listening without a stethoscope? And can his low voice anything have to do with something?

So if he referred you to a pulmonologist, did you follow up with that? That should help address your other concerns.

I also wonder if your child has asthma. People who have asthma have lower immune systems and catch viruses easier, and can sick more often. I know because I'm asthmatic myself. Luckily I outgrew most of it.
In your case, I would get an opinion from another doctor. And continue to push for the referral to see a the specialist.
Also, agree with the advice here on using a humidifier.

My daughter and I both have asthma. Yes, you can absolutely hear wheezing without a stethoscope. Sometimes it can just be a sign of an acute illness like bronchitis, but if it happens frequently, there's probably a good chance he has asthma. Even a pulmonologist will have a hard time diagnosing asthma in a child that age because pulmonary function tests aren't performed on young children, but sometimes they can diagnose it based on the clinical picture. It definitely can't hurt to see a good pediatric pulmonologist to get a professional opinion on your observations.
