looking for wow factor yet easy Pesach desserts with basic and cheap ingredients

All the nice looking recipes call for about a bucket of ground almonds - dunno if its just where I live, but they're SO expensive.

I need recipes with relatively cheap ingredients, not too hard to make, don't require all sorts of fancy equipment...etc.

I have a great mousse recipe, but it uses margarine, whats a Pesach sub for that?

You can try freezing oil, it can work.

What about the a 3 layer strawberry ices.

Layer 1
Frozen strawberries - 1 bag
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup orange juice

Blend

Layer 2

Ice Cream

Layer 3
Mix equal amounts of layer one and two.

Freeze in loaf pans. It's a big recipe, you should get 3 loafs. It's refreshing, easy to make and looks really nice on the plate.

From Susie Fishbein: sorbet ruffles. Make a couple of sorbets (fruit juice, sugar, water) (or buy). Layer them in cupcake papers, softening each flavor first, then freezing each layer at a time. I bought some aluminum foil cupcake tins for this. To serve, invert onto plate, remove paper, try topping with a few squeezes of raspberry, coffee, and/or chocolate sauce.
