What are people wearing to wedding nowadays? I know that suits are out, so what's in?

That really depends on many factors (your age, community, tznius limitations)

I have something similar to this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/.....lSrch

That I wear with a black open cardigan. I'm not sure if this is what's "in" but I get compliments.

I am quite overweight and don't think I can possibly pull off the dress look right now Sad

Ok great! So then you can definitely pull off a dress, especially a flarey skirt. Lace is huge right now. Or if you're more comfortable a full midi tulle skirt with a tucked in cardigan is a huge look in fashion right now and very flattering.

Why don't you wear what you always wear (I'm assuming you've been to simchas in the past) and look around and see if there's a trend? If you see one, then buy that type of thing next time you go shopping. If not, just go shopping and find something that looks good on you and is festive. If it's new and from a normal store, it probably will be in-sync with the current overall styles.

Overall, I find that OOT is often not so up-to-date stylewise and New York styles take awhile to hit OOT (unless it's all over the regular non-Jewish stores). You could be the most up-to-date stylish woman in NY, but look totally strange OOT for some time.

Thanks everyone!

Shopmiami, Cincy is a lovely, warm frum community. I'd recommend CZE shul (Zichron Eliezer). Yeshivish, but somwehat old style European. Super nice shul.

For larger sizes a more voluminous skirt with a higher waist and large belt can work better.

what about me? I'm a duck shape lol - not sure how else to describe...I look pregnant even though I'm not and I have a nice load in the back. What can I wear? Not davka wedding, but dressy, Shabbos/Yuntif, etc? I haven't bought anything new in a while but I have a simcha coming up and would love to have something new to wear.
