You can watch TV shows if you pay for TV through a provider like Cablevision, Time Warner, Verizon, etc. etc. You can enter that information on the TV show site and it will allow you to watch shows. You don't have to have a TV in your home for this service, but you do need to pay the provider.

Depends on the show because if you go to the website of a network, they will have some shows for free.

watchseries.ag They have hundreds of tv shows. I've been using the site for years. It works for phones, computers and tablets.
ETA: This site is an aggregator, so when you find a show and an episode you wish to view you will be given multiple sites that have made it available. Places like one video, Videoweed, movie share etc. It's easy to use.

You can watch some shows on hulu.com but without paying you will get access to the shows only about a week late. For about $10 a month, you can get a Hulu plus account and that'll give you more real-time freedom.
