Not in Miami, anywhere else, but has to be in the United States.
We want a nice hotel/ resort, mostly to sit at the pool and beach. Willing to fly 3 hours or so
Any ideas??

Thanks for the suggestions, but I need to stay within continental US since I am BH 20 weeks pregnant and dont have health insurance out of USA. My dr says its safe to travel, but would rather me stay within domestic US in case of emergency CV

Virgin Islands is less than 3 hours and is part of the US. Otherwise Florida Keys, maybe Hilton Head SC, or Outer Banks of NC, though check if the weather is warm enough. The farther south you go, the warmer it will be.
