Since I shave my head BALD, I do it on my own. Its quite easy.

Ditto!

Shaving your head bald may seem traumatic,(or drastic) but if all your life you know that this is what you will do, you just accept it.

I go to the beauty school in my town. the students have to have a required number of hours working on real people before they can graduate. I always request a female student. (it's mostly women students anyway) I have my hair coloured to match my shetle so the gray hairs don't "peek out". it's not expensive and for $34.00 I get a colour, shampoo, conditioning and haircut. I forgo the fancy blow dry and just have a rough blow dry because I'm putting a shetle on afterwards. it's such a treat for me. the students are super slow and for three hours I can relax and feel pampered.

Wow, this thread is really old! It's from 2005. How did you even find it to revive it?

Hello. Rutabaga. Just randomly reading all the posts, decided I'll put in my 2 cents worth of commentary. You might enjoy one more comment, when I go to the desk to pay afterwards, the receptionist always complements my "hair". I've stopped correcting them (It's a wig) and just say thank you.
