I am planning on making aliyah this summer - without a pilot trip. I would like to start off in Jerusalem, probably for several months if not longer. I am widowed in my 60's and do not have family in Israel. So I am looking for a warm, English-speaking area of Jerusalem, close to an orthodox/yeshivish shul (where Rabbi gives English sermons). Would appreciate any suggestions for which particular neighborhood to stay in around Jerusalem.

Har Nof has many Anglos; Sanhedria Murchevet has an English-speaking kehilla led by Rav Yitzchok Berkowitz that's supposed to be very nice.

I cant think of the exact location but Rabbi Wein has a kehilla in Jerusalem. He gives many many many shiurim.
It may be katamom or shaarei chesed.
Also, anywhere near the OU Center would have many shiurim and many anglos as well.

Thank you all for sharing the information. It's very helpful and having Rabbi's names will help me in my search.

Rechavia is lovely and meets all the requirements (and its very close to the OU Israel Center), but it is expensive.
