My IL'S bought diamonds for all their son's future wives. They got a good deal and felt it would be more fair if all the girls had the same size stone. I married the youngest boy and was very disappointed that I couldn't pick out the diamond I wanted. Many years later it's still upsetting to me though I never had the heart to tell my husband how I feel.
