So I wanted to make my apricot roast, but the recipe calls for a cup of duck sauce and I'm out! If I substitute aapricot jelly, what else can I add to replace the "duck sauce" Asian flavor?

I make my own duck sauce with jelly, any kind will work in a bind but apricot or plum are best, and fresh ginger, and hot red pepper or hot red paprika. Garlic is optional. I like to add a can of pineapple, too. My daughter turns it into hawaiian and adds shredded coconut and slivered almonds.
