We don't mix fish with dairy
I want to serve a small EASY cold fish appetizer I can put together
before we eat dairy
Does this sound appetizing
Melba toast smeared with a parve pesto with lox on top
Decorated with thinly sliced red onion and capers
My homemade pesto is made in the Vitamix and is smooth and creamy like the consistency of cream cheese.
Does pesto and lox go together cold.
Any other ideas appreciated
NEEDS TO BE SUPER EASY!!!

Sounds good to me.
I also sometimes chop up smoked salmon and mix it into egg salad. Decorate with scallions or chives and it looks nice and colorful too. Always goes over well. If there are picky eaters and/or kids I will just serve a slice of rolled up smoked salmon (toothpick with olive on top to secure it looks pretty) next to a scoop of egg salad.

No little kids only adults who love pesto and love lox.
Just wasn't sure if the flavors go together
