What is the going rate for a mother's helper? Looking for someone to help me with a newborn and household chores while I adjust to being a new mother. I will be home the whole time, and I plan to do almost all of the work caring for the baby. I would want the mother's helper to do some light housework (such as laundry help, dishes), keep me company, and keep an eye on the baby while I nap, when appropriate.
What is a fair rate to pay? I will probably be hiring an adult (not teen) since baby is due after the school year begins and I hope to have some help during the day while my husband is at work.
