did anyone try making challah in this?
its on sale in walmart for $29 & since I don't have a mixer & don't want to spend on kitchen aid or bosch right now, was wondering if I should take a chance with this????

I actually won one recently but haven't used it yet (I haven't decide if I want it to be dairy or meat). I have a feeling challah would kill the motor of something that only costs $29. It looks like a pretty cheap-o mixer. I doubt it can mix anything so thick (?is that the right word to describe challah dough?).

It's for cake batter, whipping cream and egg whites. Not for challah dough

You would need a mixer with a dough hook to make challah.

My experience with HB has not been great. Any really thick dough will kill the motor.
Even for hand mixers, I've switched to cuisinart or Kitchen aid.
