I just came across spotify and was thrilled to find so many songs I love.
Wondering if there is any halachic issue here. Some are songs I have on cd and not on my phone. I'm not a big cd buyer, rather listen to songs on stream etc...
Would be grateful if someone could enlighten me as I d love to enjoy it but not if its a halachic problem.
Btw I am referring to Jewish music from Jewish artists thx

Are you worried that you're stealing from the artists by using this service? My understanding is that it works like the radio-spotify pays a royalty to the artist when they play the song for you. That's why they play ads and sell subscriptions-to provide the money for those costs. That being said, I've never used spotify, but I have used pandora, and I'm pretty sure it works the same way.
