He should have a refuah shelaima. Although I don't know if he is suffering from bacterial or viral meningitis, this should be a reminder to those who vaccinate to make sure that your babies receive their Hib vaccine.

FROM THE LAKEWOOD SCOOP:
It is with much regret that we inform you of the Petirah of Hayeled Eliezer Nosson Friedman A”H, an 18-month-old Lakewood boy who was Niftar today after contracting an illness.
Eliezer Nosson, son of R’ Tzvi Aryeh, reportedly contracted meningitis approximately two weeks ago, and was taken to the hospital, where his condition deteriorated. A short time later, the boy went into a Coma and remained in that state until his Petirah today.

The Kevurah was held at the 7th Street Bais Olam.

BD"H. I would guess that it was viral. Most babies (I hope) in Lakewood are vaccinated. Though you never know with all those PEACH people.

I only writing this so people won't misjudge/criticize.
Apparently they were behind on vaccinations because the baby was sick a lot in the winter.

Bde . Thank you amother above. I know the family well. They are such special and unbelievable people. This was truly a freak thing and on top of all the pain they are going thru they definitely don't need baseless rumors spreading.
It is truly heartbreaking.
May they be comforted and know of no more pain.

Maybe the family can counteract the Peach movement in Lakewood and promote the dangers of not vaccinating Sad

. The dangers are real even for infants who have not completed all their vaccines.
My heart is crying for them. No one should know from such sorrow.
