Chuck meat is meant for slow cooking at a low temperature, used in stew or cholent. Should be baked at least 2 hours, tightly covered.

I'm not baking it, I'm cooking it in a skillet as was suggested to me. But my friend didn't know amounts of time. Online I found one place where it says 6 min each side for well done. Does that make sense?

You said chuck meat. Is that different than beef chuck steak?

It's at most 1 inch thick, but I don't even think that, if it makes a difference. Maybe 3/4 of an inch

If you want medium doneless, sear until the meat color changes halfway up that 3/4" thickness, then do the other side. For well done the color should change all the way up before flipping to finish off the other side.

It worked out amazing!!! Like I said, I got the recipe from a friend, three ingredients for the marinade were a delicious mix! Put it in a skillet, as someone mentioned here, till it was browned all the way up, then turned it over. The smell emanating from our apartment must have been that of gan eden, and the food steak tasted totally amazing! Was soft, juicy, yuuuuum!! Can't say exactly how long it took for each side, you kinda just have to watch it. Thanks for everyone's help!
