This week Seuda Shlishit is not the last meal before the fast. Melave Malka is.

In general, we like to have a lot of fruit before a summer fast.

Yep I know,Thanks though- we just happen to be having a lot of company for seudat shlishit this week and that made me think of tisha bav as well. Plan on making a ziti, salad, tuna, tater tots (the kids love those) any other out of the box ideas????

Not true you can wake up before the fast and eat.

I think this year I will make a more substantial SS. I think a Spanish tortilla, some sort of salad and whatever challah and dips are leftover.

For after the fast, we will have this chicken and rice dish that has been going around one of the facebook recipe groups.

I use this recipe http://smittenkitchen.com/blog.....atas/

My pan is non stick so I use less oil.

Depending on the time, I sometimes use fresh potatoes and sometimes canned. I serve it with slices of lemon to squeeze over. My 4 year old loves it and it can be eaten cold warm hot however you like it. Its super versatile.

before tisha b'av I'll make a lot of brown rice. For this shabbos I'll probably do our regulars - its a lot as it is - a few salads and dips, salmon, cream cheese and lox, Greek cheese cake, cheese and sliced vegetables, tacos and salsa, fruit...
