I used to go with my husband yearly. We stayed in a cheap hotel off the strip but it wasn't bad. Others stayed at the Venetian which is gorgeous.
For food. Sababa is really good. Israeli style fleishigs. Kebobs. Grilled chicken. Just fyi. If he gets very busy he will not take orders. He will just give you a few of his specialties and that's it.
For milchige. Adar pizza is good. Right off the strip. Nothing crazy. Good.
I haven't been in awhile so I don't remenber much else.
As for what to do. Hotel hopping. Every few hours a different one. Wynn is beautiful. Gondola ride in the Venetian. Paris. Caesar palace. Watching dancing waters at the Belagio. Every hotel has its own entertainment. If you are into cirque du soleil shows. There's a ton of them there. All nice.
Just be aware. Tends to be very hot. But the humidity is non existent. So even if it is 104 degrees it doesn't feel it.

I havent seen the rooms in NY NY. but I don't think they can be too bad.
What is the name of the show in that hotel. Each hotel has a different show. I don't remember what that one was.
Also just remembered. If you are into pools and beaches. Mandalay bay has a beautiful pool. It is set up to look like a beach and the whole thing is like a wave pool. Never been to it but looked at it from inside the hotel. Was sure tempting.

Both yelp and tripadvisor have reliable reviews. Just put in kosher as the criteria and then read the reviews.

I can take any of the shows at any mgm hotel....so a bunch of options like ka zumanuty zarkana etc. Is the pool usually empty there?

Please do not take zumanity. It is an adult show that is a bit gross. A great one is la reve if you can do that. Or any of the others. Just didn't know what I was getting into in zumanity and I didn't really like it. R rated.
About the pool. I don't know. Never been. I went for business so only saw it from the hallway. I assume it is usually not empty but it is huge.

I was there a few years ago with my DH and had a nice time. Frankly, the one issue that bothered me was the very open way that prostitution is advertised there. There are big billboards with pictures of half naked busty girls with phone # and a slogan that will say "direct to your room". Disgusting. They also have these people handing out these escort cards at various places on the strip, again with a completely immodest picture of a girl offering to come to your hotel room. The taxi cabs have these same advertisements on the roof of the car. The strange thing is that prostitution in las vegas is every bit as illegal as it is in, say Brooklyn, but for some reason this is completely accepted and done openly. I don'y really get it.

I like the trump, their spa is amazing, great deals, plus when you walk through the hotel you are not walking through a casino.

I know people who like to stay here.

my dh and I were going to go vegas at the end of june this year but canceled the trip (arranged a different one). We had booked NY NY but we were just using it for the first part of our trip for one night. We were going to go to hoover dam and grand canyon after that.

do not fall for any of the timeshare offers, its not worth your time, it takes too much time of your vacation and very not worth it, even for the free stuff.

We went in February. Spent a day at Hoover dam which was really nice. Spent a day hotel hopping and then spent a day just hanging around. Stayed at the Luxor for $35 a night. Check out Vegas.com for hotels and Google for a promo code. Every time the hotel drops in price they email u and u can rebook & save the diff up to 24 hours before ur stay. We are at huntridge soda fountain that was really good. Saw blue man group which I didn't like but my husband did. Also did a 1 hour TV show study at the cbs studio at mgm hotel where we got $100 for it. Was cool and we were gna do it not knowing they were paying for it.
