I was just wondering if anyone is willing to share with me, how they started publishing Jewish children's books, and what the process looks like?
Is it very difficult to get published? Do you need to find your own illustrator? Is the work rewarding? Are you making a real parnasa?
Thank you.

I have published kids' books with a mainstream publisher. Yes, it's hard to break in, no, authors are not expected to illustrate their own work, and no, I don't make a living from my royalties. But it's still fun.
I understand that there are Jewish subsidy presses (that's the polite term for a vanity press). These ask you to shoulder the upfront costs. If you really want to see your name in print, consider it.
