We just moved from Israel to America. My one year old was on Materna formula in Israel. Originally, my husband wanted to put him on soy for a month or two until he was ready for cows milk so he could remain on chalov yisroel. Baby refused the soy. So we got regular Similac and Enfinal, but he can't stand those either. How different can the taste be?!
I know he is already one so he can technically have cows milk already, but he seems to have crazy diapers after having dairy--even yogurt and cheese, so I worried about starting it yet. He does eat solids, but one year olds still need milk, right? Nebach...should I just give him water with a little juice in it?

Definitely don't give him juice!
What does your pediatrician suggest?

Call and ask. If they have it, they might be able to ship you some for now.

One year olds don't necessarily need bottles.
If it doesn't work, and he's getting nutrition from food. Don't make yourself crazy.

I understand you why you don't want to give him regular milk. My almost 2 year old still gets formula for the same reason. He gets horrible diapers and diaper rashes from the tiniest piece of cheese. I think foodmart in Boro park sells it. My son did not like the sunrise. I give him similac soy powder. I dilute it with rice milk instead of a reg full formula. He doesn't love this either but he's ok with it.

Ask your pediatrician about lactaid. I use it (not my Child) as I have issues with dairy but he doesn't BH. It's just like regular milk as I believe it is- just with lactase added in for ease in digesting milk.
It is cholov staam but I can't have any other milk to drink and my doctor said I need it medically.
I think they make pareve drops you can add to your milk too...
