My baby is constantly spitting up. Is it fine? Why would she be doing it?

My baby split up all the time but was gaining weight and it didn't seem to bother her. No need to be worried if its just spit up.

Is the spit-up in combination with burping? Basically, with my most recent baby, he spat up alot and I remedied the situation by burping him more often during feedings so that he wasn't eating extra to compensate for the feeling of needing to burp. I felt that the milk was extra for him or was being forced up with buried burps. At least that is my theory! Could it be that your baby is not burping enough?

If the baby isn't gaining weight and seems uncomfortable laying down after a feeding, then you should discuss with your pediatrician the possibility that the baby has reflux.

Otherwise, it's probably normal. Babies spit up. It's runnier when they've just eaten and thicker when it's partially digested. Make sure to burp the baby during and after each feeding and keep a burp cloth handy.
