My daughter tested positive for strept last night. She also had a cbc count of 16 point something. She was put onto cefdinir. She got 1 dose last night another dose this morning. She still has fever and is still throwing up. It's already 24 hrs on meds. I'm concerned. Is this normal?

I would call the doctor. Always better safe than sorry, why would you ask here instead of asking your pediatrician? She's already in middle of a medical situation, follow up with the person who diagnosed and prescribed the medicine.

I believe it could take 2-3 days for the antibiotics to work. But it can't hurt to ask the doctor.

Definitely takes a few days to get better, be it with or without meds. But high fever and throwing up, definitely call the peds 24 hour number just to check in.

Fever up to 48 hrs after 1st dose of antibiotics is normal. Have your child take acidophilus/probiotics (can buy in any pharmacy/health food store) to help with the vomiting.
