Once our child got a diagnosis, people started making comments like now you can get diapers for free through Medicaid, some cash for the child, cash for toys..... How on earth do you do this? Is it true?

Of course.
Up to Size 6, you simply need a doctor's prescription for the diapers and most pharmacies will honor it. Larger than that you can get diapers through hdismedicald.com.
Toy money etc - you need to get medicaid waiver services, through any of the many local agencies that offer medicaid waiver services.
