My stove/oven just died and I need a new one asap. From your experience, is a convection oven really worth paying a few hundred dollars more? (We can only use an electrical oven because we don't have any other kind of hook ups)
Thanks

If you like to bake, the results are more even.
I try to think about the cost spread out over years of use and so the extra cost each year is minimal.
Of course it also depends on your budget. People have cooked for many years without convection and produced delicious stuff. There was an article I always remember about the home kitchens some chefs in NYC have which are pretty terrible and they cook far more delicious food than entitled fancy pants who need a "gourmet" kitchen to heat leftovers. Lol

Convection will improve results for foods with a crust or a crispy surface, like challah or roast chicken. It can also even out the heat. Yes, I think it's worth the extra money.
