Any recommendations on wicks, glasses to hold oil etc..
I tried once and the glasses I used turned black around the edges. Wondering if there is a certain brand that stays nice..
TIA!

I use floating wicks and I fill the glass halfway with water.

The sides eventually do turn black on mine.
Soak them for 2-3 days in ammonia.
I usually put them in a bucket and leave it in the garage, where no one can get to it.
Then rinse and all the black comes right off.

I stock up on those pre filled Chanukah cups. Then you can just toss them. I only light two a week which makes it much easier and less expensive so this may not be good if you light many candles.

My wick moved once in a while and got on the glass. Just last week I washed it with bleach and it came off. So I think it could come off. I just use the glasses the sell (Ner Mitzvah maybe?) and wicks in a gold thingy.

water in your oil cup can cause a fire, do not do that.

I saw it explode with my own eyes

If the water gets too hot, it will boil "bubble" and send the wick flying. If it lands while still lit it will ignite whatever is there.
