Hi. DH is taking a kid up to Great Neck for a simcha. They plan to arrive early in the day & want to spend time at a park with waterfront. I guess it is the bay or the sound?
They would like somewhere with a spot where you can wade in the salt water, or walk along a sandy patch of beach.
Suggestions for an informal restaurant (ie. pizza, shwarma) are also welcome.
Thanks.

Steppingstone park is by the water but I don't know if you can pay to get in, it's usually members only.
And so many kosher restaurants on middle neck road to choose from La pizza or elite pizza and so many meat places too.

What about Sands Point County Park/Preserve? Anyone been there?
Do they have any showers there for the beach goers?

We've been to sands point preserve recently. It's really beautiful. The beach itself is rocky bc it's the north shore but the kids still enjoyed. I didn't find any showers there so we came home really sandy and had to shower at home.
But there might be showers in the building itself that we missed finding? It's a bit of a walk from the beach itself. Maybe try calling and see?
